For testing and support: clicks, input, console errors and network requests on the video timeline.

What happens to captures

Replay stays in the browser

The buffer of the last seconds never leaves the device. Only what you saved goes to the cloud.

Stored in the EU

Files are kept in private storage in the EU. A capture is reachable only through a link with a random address.

Deletion is final

After the trash is emptied or the account is deleted, the files are removed from storage.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How is Free different from Pro?

Free: 30 screenshots and 15 videos to the cloud per month, videos up to 5 minutes, 30 seconds of instant replay, 500 MB in the cloud. Pro: no upload limit, videos up to 30 minutes, replay up to 2 minutes, 10 GB in the cloud and your logo on link pages. Saving locally on Free is unlimited.

Does the recipient of a link need an account?

No. The link opens in any browser, including on a phone. The recipient sees the video or screenshot, the steps, console, network and environment data. Anyone who has the link can download the file.

How does instant replay work?

While the extension is on, it keeps the last 30 seconds of the screen (up to 2 minutes on Pro) in the browser’s memory and keeps overwriting them. Alt+Shift+B saves that fragment as a recording. Until you press save, the buffer is not sent anywhere.

Where are captures stored and who can see them?

Saved captures are kept in private storage in the EU. A capture is visible to you and to the people you sent the link to. The link address is random and long, so it cannot be guessed. Deleting the capture disables the link.

What happens to captures after Pro is cancelled?

Pro stays active until the end of the paid period, then the account moves to Free. Captures and links are kept. New uploads to the cloud are available while no more than 500 MB is used.

How do I get a refund?

Payments are taken by Paddle, which also processes refunds. The terms and time limits are in the Refund Policy. You can send a request to support@flickback.dev or through the order page in the email from Paddle.

What permissions does the extension need, and why?
  • Access to sites and running scripts on the page (<all_urls>, scripting, activeTab) — to capture the page, record clicks, input and navigation, console errors and network requests, and to hide fields with personal data. The extension attaches to a page only for the duration of a screenshot, a recording or while replay is on.
  • Tab and screen capture (tabCapture, desktopCapture) — for video and instant replay.
  • A background recording page (offscreen) — Chrome records the video there while you work in the tab.
  • Network requests (webRequest) — the list of requests during a recording: address, method, status code and time. Text bodies of requests and responses are stored in shortened form, with personal data in them hidden.
  • Storage (storage) — local captures and settings.
  • Timers (alarms) — the recording length limit, emptying the trash, sending anonymised statistics.

Sign-in with Google opens in a separate window; the extension does not request access to your Google account.

Does FlickBack work for a team?

Yes. Team includes a shared folder, comments on captures, sending to Jira and 60 GB for a team of up to 5 people. For larger teams and custom terms, use the “Request terms” button.
